Hi guys! I hope you’ve been well.

I have had a better day today than yesterday, which was absolutely crucial for the progression of my revision. I managed to do three past papers for three different subjects and I’m aiming to mark and correct them all before I sleep tonight.

Originally, I was actually having a similar day to yesterday and I didn’t really know what to do with myself but then I found some rain and thunderstorm sounds on Youtube and got into the zone by listening to them while I worked. I’m not sure how or why but it really helped me to focus and avoid getting distracted, so I will have to try it again next time I need to work.

So yeah, I managed to get quite a bit done today: I did an old F325 paper and then did some extra revision on redox titrations, which I was a bit unsure of on the paper I did. I’ve also realised that making notes for chemistry, which was what I was doing before, just makes me panic more than actually work. I think even going through past paper questions without completely knowing what I’m doing is more helpful than notes because practising in order to improve is more effective for me.

I also did a C3 maths past paper and I’m just finishing off a biology Component 1 paper. I’m not feeling too bad on biology because I’ve been going through the content quite regularly and I’m doing past papers pretty regualrly too. The only component I really need to revise more content for is Component 3 because we did that last year and I’ve not been over it in detail for a very long time.

My study goals for tomorrow are:
– Attempt an F321 paper maybe, just to recap on some of last year’s stuff
– Mainly aiming to get on to the Paper 1 practice paper for chemistry
– Go over Component 3 for biology in detail
– Go through previous Component 1 biology mocks and mark and correct before making a list of mistakes to never make again
– Complete the 2017 S1 paper

I feel like some items on my to-do lists rotate every couple of days which is quite funny but also very indicative of my procrastinating nature as I will put things off multiple days at a time.

Hopefully I’ll be able to go to Central Library tomorrow and I think it’ll be open despite it being a bank holiday, so I should be able to get quite a bit of work done. On Tuesday I’m meeting my friend and we are going to go over all the biology content for all three exams in the interest of really consolidating the content once and for all. I think from now on I will just be doing past papers and going over the content before I sleep, at least one component a night.

So that’s my study update. We are going well despite our shaky day yesterday.

In terms of other news, I’m looking forward to summer and being able to spend time doing things I actually like. I was also thinking that I want to change my blog’s name at some point, to make it more of a blog about myself as opposed to just studying, so I’m in the process of thinking up some names for that.

My social life, if you recall, is nonexistent still but I don’t know if I’d want it any other way. Though over summer, I’d really like to go out and meet new people, at this point in time, I’m quite happy spending my time alone, at least until exams are over.

That’s all from me for today, guys, thanks for reading! Wishing you a good, productive day!
