Hello everyone! We are T-minus 3 days away from the first exam!
My day today wasn’t too bad actually and I feel like I got a healthy mix of almost every subject done. In terms of my to-do list, I finished my Component 1 paper this morning and marked and corrected it. It went surprisingly well but a lot of it was basic recall so I don’t know if I should consider that a huge success. and then I made flashcards for all the organic synthesis routes, which I was quite proud of!
A bit messy but at least it’s all in one place!
They did take quite a while to do, admittedly, because I was having a very slow morning, but I was happy with how they turned out. I also managed to do two S1 past papers which actually made very clear that I need to get my revision in order for statistics! It’s not that it’s overly difficult but a few times I just came across a question and my mind totally blanked and I couldn’t even think of how to start it.
Right now I’m in the process of completing the 2017 Paper 1 for chemistry which we kind of did a few months back but that was a pretty stripped back version so I think it’s good to go back over it again and try to avoid making the same mistakes. I do intend to finish this tonight and hopefully mark it too.
Tomorrow, I’m planning on doing the Paper 1 from Set 2 of the Practice Papers that OCR supplied as my main priority. I also really have to do some French because our teacher suggested that we write two essays as practice over half term and in my typical style, I’m going to do it on Sunday! I might start some mind-maps on the characters and themes in the book and film but that’s time-dependent and I fear that I won’t have much time left after doing two essays. After that I’m planning on marking the chemistry paper I’ll have done in the morning and then hopefully doing a bit of biology.
My study goals for tomorrow (in a lovely, bullet-pointed format) are:
– Paper 1 from Set 2 chemistry Practice Papers
– Two essays for French
– Mindmaps on themes and characters (especially in the book)
– Mark and correct my chemistry paper
– Biology revision and going over past Component 1 papers, clearing misconceptions up
That’s about it really. It doesn’t sound like a huge amount of work but I know I will spend all day doing that, particularly considering how much I procrastinate.
I’m also going to sleep in tomorrow morning! Goodness gracious, I don’t think there’s anything I’m more excited about! This whole week has just been so full on with early morning starts pretty much everyday and it’s barely felt like a holiday at all. I mean, I don’t mind and it’s bound to happen this close to exams but I really need to relax a little bit too. I feel like all I’m doing these days is either sleeping or working and I don’t think it’s particularly healthy for anyone to do that. Though even the sleep department has been lacking for me recently and I need to spend a morning lounging in bed to recuperate.
Well, that’s it from me. I need to go back and finish this chemistry paper before I eat and sleep. Thank you so much for reading, I hope your life is going productively and well. Not long now until the summer break begins and things pick up a bit more. I will update you all tomorrow!
